How Do I Meet People?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.

Small Groups

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church is a perfect fit for someone looking for a more intimate environment. The size of most groups is anywhere from six to twelve people.

Sunday School

Sis. Varnarsie Hobson – Superintendent
Bro. Elijah Hill – Asst. Superintendent

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction.

Youth Ministry
Sis. Cynthia Spann – Director

The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids.

Young Women’s Association
Sis. Vernita Dampier – Advisor

The YWA gives the young ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our young women’s group meets monthly and are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, fun!). This group provides a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the young women in the church.

Men’s Brotherhood
Bro. Michael Jones, Sr. – President
Bro. Roosevelt Gipson – Vice President

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Men’s Brotherhood is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. Men meet together monthly and keep in touch by email or phone.

Young Men’s Rites of Passage
Bro. Terrance Sinclair – President

Watch boys grow into young men. The Rites of Passage program is a mentoring program for boys and young men 13 – 18 years old.  It prepares them spiritually and practically to pass from boyhood to manhood by addressing issues they will face as they mature.  It also creates a pay-it-forward support system for those that celebrate their passage by mentoring those that come after them.

Senior Mission
Sis. Ledora Banks – Interim President

Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Sr. Mission provides refreshing ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.

Usher Ministry
Sis. Louise Patterson – President
Sis. Minnie Hobson – Vice President

Have cheerful outgoing spirit? Be a gatekeeper for the house of the Lord and help welcome in the congregation of the saints and prepare them for worship.

Media/Audio/Visual Ministry
Bro. Michael Smith – President

St Mary is growing and exploring new ways to spread the Good News.  Whether running audio or camera as the services are recorded for outreach, through a recorded media or maintaining the church’s website, here is another ministry where you can learn , grow and share your talent.
